Let’s talk inspiration. I get asked sometimes what inspires me to draw what I draw, and I never have a single answer for people. So, since I’m currently engaged in one of my major inspirations, I’m going to discuss it a little.

Loads of folks say that Music turns their crank, and I’m one of them. Lately, I’ve fallen back into listening to a genre I like to call ‘Operock’, which is to say, Operatic Rock, or in the case of the current band I’m grooving too, Operatic Metal. It’s a band that I had the opportunity to discover from a friend of my beloved, and I doubt I’ll ever stop being grateful that said friend furthered my musical education in such a way. The lead singer on his own would make me drool, but combine it with the rest of the bands’ intuitive and brilliant musicians and you’ve got one happy Bricky.
So who is this band? Kamelot. If you’ve never heard of them, you’re either just not into the genre, or you’ve been under a rock. Their first two albums emulated Goethe’s Faust, and the latest (and the one I’m currently listening to) is comprised of several unique and equally potent stories that are brought to life not only by the sonorous communion of the instruments struck in deadly precision, but also by the drool-worthy and fan-girl creating Siren’s call of the lead singer, Roy Khan.

Holy toledo, Batman! Hubba hubba!
But don’t just take my word for it, click the image and go check them out. Seriously. Quit reading this and CLICK DAMNIT!
